Oh how fun it is to rip a dvd recording, cut it up into manageable bites and upload to youtube. Finally surfed around and found easy ripping software: http://www.videohelp.com/download/VOB2MPG25.zip
and then found an mpeg cutter:

…
And that process took dozens of attempts, discarding one piece of junk program after another. You know how it is. The two programs listed above are no frills – no pain in the ass – just easy freeware.
Now to get the things on YouTube. Yeah, right. Ever try uploading a 600mb flick onto YouTube? See ya in a week. Finally put a couple of segments on a 4 gig flashdrive and the wife took them to work where they have a T-1 internet connection. 600mb took her 15 minutes.
So I’ll put the other segments on the flash drive and the gracious wife will get them on YouTube for me on Friday. Until then, here’s a teaser clip from the start of the demo:rocketstove_teaser

15 minutes on a T-1. Shee it. I guess you picked the wrong week to give up smoking cigarettes.
Great plot. Weak on character development.

You can use the Multi-Video Uploader from Youtube. It should also take a long time, but it never breaks (it uses Google Gears).

WOOHOO! I’m SOOO looking forward to your getting this up on youtube! I was waiting for the demonstration day to hear how it went and was really wanting to learn how to do this. I’m encouraged and inspired by your desire to cut free of dependence on anyone but self.
Thanks for all your efforts in sharing your knowledge with us!
